Kiehl’s Cilantro & Orange Pollutant Defence Masque || Week 2 || Day 6

Overnight masks are some of my favourite to use, for the reason that they not only simplify a pm routine into fewer steps, but they also take heavy duty action on the skin. Previously I spoke about the Kiehl’s Ulltra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque as well as the Biotherm Life Plankton Mask. Both of these masks are overnight hydrating masks and work to replenish the skin in that nature.

Hydrating masks aren’t the only kind of overnight products though.

Behold…

Kiehl’s Cilantro & Orange Pollutant Defence Masque

From the retailers:

  • Helps defend and replenish with hydration, to reduce the visible signs of pollution such as dull, unhealthy looking skin,
  • Formulated with Cilantro and Orange Extracts, our masque protects skin against environmental aggressors while helping to defend pollutants from adhering to skin,
  • With continued use skin looks renewed, radiant and protected.

Evidently this overnight mask is much different from the two that I’ve gone ahead and previously mentioned. That being said, having diversity among skincare products that we interchange between is never a bad thing.

Not only is the mask itself different, but its application is slightly unique as well; it gets layered within a pm routine opposed to acting as a standalone treatment.

Essentially the process begins with cleansing and toning as per usual, and then always make sure to follow with your eye cream. Once that’s absorbed the mask gets applied by first having a small amount warmed up between the fingers and then massaged onto then face evenly. Wait for it to dry, finish with serum, oil and moisturizer.

Yes it’s a lengthy process, but heck does it ever get the job done.

I love how dewy and purified my skin looks the next day. It literally feels like a fresh awakening when you look in the mirror and get caught up in the warmth of your complexion, not even kidding.

I definitely recommend this mask for ALL SKIN TYPES, especially those who suffer from minor breakouts and impurities on the face. I ESPECIALLY recommend it if you’re like me and you live in a city or heavily polluted area where the defence is almost mandatory.

Well that’s a wrap for Day 6 of The 7 Day Mask Challenge Week Two with the Kiehl’s Cilantro & Orange Pollutant Defence Masque. Tomorrow I’ll be back with my final mask post of the two weeks, and then I’ll be back with one final recap of my overall comparison between a week of Sheet Masks vs. a week of Professional Masks.

Keep the defence,

Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque + Kiehl’s Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Mask || Week 2 || Day 5

I’m a little late with this post, and for that I am terribly sorry!

Now let’s not waste any time and get right into Day 5 of The 7 Day Mask Challenge. I preach it regularly and I have throughout this challenge already, I LOVE Multi-Masking. Being able to use multiple masks in one session and benefit from the results of multiple active ingredients simultaneously is a great way to maximize on time, and usage. For Day 3 I chose to speak about my favourite combo and now we’ll talk a little more about my second go-to.

Deep pore cleansing is extremely important at keeping our pores minimized and sebum levels low, limiting the possibility of a breakout. And who likes breakouts?

However sometimes we may find that a deep pore cleansing mask may be slightly drying, but that doesn’t mean that all are. Regardless it certainly doesn’t hurt to re-hydrate and re-fresh the skin afterwards, which is why I use a combo of…

Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque

Here’s what the retailers have to say:

  • Formulated with Amazonian White Clay to gently draw out oil, dirt and toxins from clogged pores,
  • The addition of Oatmeal and Aloe Vera helps to soothe.

Kiehl’s Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Masque

From the manafacturers:

  • Lightweight gel mask formulated with hand-picked Calendula Flower Petals and Aloe Vera bursts into a refreshing surge of cooling hydration,
  • Upon application, dry skin is instantly hydrated and smoothed,
  • Whith continued use skin is revitalized for a healthy looking complexion.

If you’ve been following along with some of my mask posts you should definitely know how much I LOVE my Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Masque. I’ve mentioned how great of an addition it is to any Multi-Masking combo and even on its own as a refreshing treatment. It literally softens, hydrates and smoothes the skin with an insanely addictive Sweet Lemon smell.

Now despite my love for the above, let’s talk a little of the Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque now instead.

I said earlier that some deep pore cleansing masques dry-out the skin and that is one thing I do not find I experience when using the Kiehl’s mask. I love how clean and purified my skin looks post-usage, and how nicely the rest of my routine absorbs into my skin once I’ve washed it off. Despite it not being drying I would NOT suggest a deep pore cleansing mask like this one to someone who suffers from dry skin.

However if you are on the oiler side and prone to larger pores and/or blemishes, the Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque is certainly a sure-winner for your cause.

Unlike my week with Sheet Masks, as I begin to near the end of my week with Professional Masks I’ve noticed no negative changes in my skin but only positive ones. With Sheet Masks I had noticed a few random blemishes that had left me feeling uncomfortable and it was 100% a cause of overnourishment. So far these results reiterate Professional Masks being more appropriate for a normal-oily skin type…

… and I’m okay with that.

Tomorrow I’ll be back with another one of my favourite overnight masks, until then…

Stay Cleansed,

pG.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Mask || Week 2 || Day 4

So you may have clued in to this already, but its no secret that I’m a die-hard Kiehl’s fan. Not only do I love the range of masks and how they can be used together, but I love the way the products feel and react with my skin, as well as how results oriented the products are to begin with.

That being said, I do own all Kiehl’s masks at home and use them daily, if not twice daily.

Hydrating our skin is something that is extremely important and often it gets overlooked when people mix Moisture and Hydration as two of the same. To be clear, Moisture is oil and Hydration is water, make sense? And the skin needs an even balance, 50% give or take, of both in order to maintain a healthy function. Now even if you are an oiler skin type, there are definitely skin care products out there designed to hydrate the skin and restore a balance, hopefully bringing oil levels down to a par.

On the other hand if you do have dry skin and it feels tight as well as irritable, you may want to get as many hydrating products you can into your routine to prevent early signs of aging. And who wants to age?

That being said one great way to hydrate the skin is with the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Mask, a HUGE personal fave.

Side note, I keep all my gel masks/products in the fridge for instant cooling and soothing.

So without further prolonging…

Kiehl’s Overnight Hydrating Mask

and what the retailers have to say:

  • Helps to instantly boost skins ability to absorb and hold moisture for long-lasting hydration,
  • Glacial Proteins and Desert Plant leaves skin smoother and softer, refreshed and supple by morning,
  • Amplifies the hydration provided by a daily moisturizer,
  • Silicone, Paraben, Fragrance & Colorant Free.

When using this mask you’re going to want to cleanse as per usual, then apply your toner and follow with eye cream; before applying the mask as the final step of your evening routine. This way the mask doesn’t get shoved into the eye area, and so that the skin is properly prepared overall.

Sometimes I exfoliate before applying a hydrating mask to allow for better penetration by the active ingredients, thus creating even greater results. When using this mask it also isn’t necessary to moisturize as this does the job on its own quite well.

After sleeping with the mask on I’ll usually begin the next day with an exfoliation, like I mentioned in my 7 Day Mask Challenge Day 2 post; that way any dirt, debris or residue from the masking is removed effectively as well. I hate clogged pores!

Essentially the results the next day are:

  • Radiant (less dull, tired) skin,
  • Smooth and soft skin.

Anything hydrating will always awaken, smooth and soften which is why hydrating products are generally my favourites. Even in the summer, nothing beats an overnight hydrating pack; especially the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Mask.

If you’re looking for a way to freshen up the skins’ appearance, revitalize it and/or cure textural differences this is definitely the mask for you.

Keep Hydrated,

pG.

Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Energizing Radiance Mask w/ Calendula and Aloe Soothing Hydration Mask || Week 2 || Day 3

When it comes to multi-masking I tend to get a little mask crazy sometimes and use so many at once, but ideally I try and restrict my usage to two masks at once. Which sometimes becomes three.

Much like multi-tasking, multi-masking allows us to gain from the benefits of multiple masks at once, opposed to waiting 24 hours or so in between processes. This makes masking extremely fun and sometimes complex for skincare junkies like ourselves.

One of my favourite multi-masking combos is the radiance, smoothing and hydration inducing combination provided by both the Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Energizing Radiance Mask and the Kiehl’s Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Mask, when used together. I try to do this combination at least once a week and often do it in the morning for a fresh and radiant look throughout the day. It is also a GREAT combo to do before any big makeup application as well, to smooth out the texture of the skin and hydrated it before applying a film of product over the face.

Moving forward, let’s learn a little more about the masks…

Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Energizing Radiance Mask

Here’s what the retailers have to say:

  • “Instant Facial” mask brightens and energizes the look of dull, fatigued skin to restore a healthy, rosy appearance,
  • Formulated with Cranberry Seeds and Turmeric, this invigorating mask helps soften skin and gently exfoliates it for smoother, brighter and illuminated looking skin.

Kiehl’s Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Mask

From the manufacturers:

  • Lightweight gel mask formulated with hand-picked Calendula Flower Petals and Aloe Vera bursts into a refreshing surge of cooling hydration,
  • Upon application, dry skin is instantly hydrated and smoothed,
  • Whith continued use skin is revitalized for a healthy looking complexion.

… so you can see why these two make a fantastic pairing.

I always begin by cleansing my makeup off of my skin using a cleansing oil and then proceed with and second cleanse, before applying my toner pre-masks; and then we’re off…

Using a mask brush I apply a thin layer of the Turmeric & Cranberry Energizing Radiance Mask all over my face while being sure to avoid the eye area. Once that is done I allow it to dry for about 10 minutes before wetting my hands and beginning to massage the product on my face; this way the Cranberry Seeds within the mask are able to exfoliate as designed to. Then, wash the remainder of the mask off.

Right after I’ve pat dry my skin I take my mask brush and my Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Mask (which I keep in the fridge by the way) and apply a thin, even layer all over the face while being sure to avoid the eye area. After about 5 minutes I wash it off, and then proceed with my nightly routine.

The results?

  • Healthy/ fresh glow,
  • Greater radiance,
  • Soft and smooth skin,
  • Hydrated skin.

These are benefits that ANYONE can enjoy, regardless of skin type. Although I would be weary if I were a more sensitive skin type when using the Turmeric & Cranberry Energizing Radiance Mask. The reason I say this is because Turmeric is a powerful ingredient and could create a small discomfort if your skin is already leaning towards the more sensitive side.

Essentially these are two of my favourite masks because of the results they produce, especially when used together. This is why I chose the multi-masking combo of the Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Energizing Radiance Mask and the Kiehl’s Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Mask as my Day 3 choices for The 7 Day Mask Challenges.

If you’re in the market for a bright complexion, softer skin and even textures you now know where to look.

Stay Bright,

pG.

Biotherm Life Plankton Mask || Week 2 || Day 2

One of my favourite about doing something like The 7 Day Mask Challenge is the fact that my skin consistently looks so fresh and clean, which is more than I could ask for; when it comes to beauty products anyways.

Today I’ll be reviewing my experience the Biotherm Life Plankton Mask as my choice for Day 2 of The 7 Day Mask Challenge.

So this mask made it into my possession by pure fluke seeing as how I hadn’t purchase it but rather it was gifted to me. And yes, gifting me a new mask I’ve yet to try is never a bad idea. When I began researching the benefits of Life Plankton and some of the other products that it can be found in, I became eager to crack open my own Biotherm Life Plankton Mask for a go at it myself.

Incase you aren’t sure what the benefits of (Fermented) Life Plankton aren’t either, here’s a brief overview:

  • Developed by Biotherm Biologists,
  • Micro-Organism,
  • Extreme regenerative properties.

Although it’s a mask my skin my not necessarily need, it definitely doesn’t harm to gain from the benefits of Life Plankton in a sense of just keeping the skin healthy and nourished. And even if you an oiler skin type, hydration won’t ever kill you.

I give you…

Biotherm Life Plankton Mask

Here’s what the manufactures have to say…

  • Hydrogel facial mask,
  • Use twice-weekly when your over-scheduled skin shows up damage, appears lifeless, feels dry and tights, looks red and irritated,
  • Sheet Mask inspired, Hydrogel texture wraps skin,
  • Visibly brighter and dewy skin.

What I personally love most about this mask is that it’s application is not only easy, but since it’s an overnight mask it simplifies the process of the pm routine on evenings when it’s used. Bonus.

I usually use the The Body Facial Mask Brush to apply this mask, after removing my makeup and going through my evening cleansing process. I also make sure that I’ve toned my skin and applied my eye cream before applying an overnight mask, as it’s the final step in an evening routine and you want to ensure that is so when you are using one; unless instructed otherwise.

The Biotherm Life Plankton Mask has a lovely cooling sensation when it’s applied, and you can honestly feel the Hydrogel wrapping your skin as suggested. And although it tickles, it definitely feels soothing and hydrating. The great thing about this mask is that it also dries extremely quickly so you aren’t waiting and hour before you can go to sleep, which means a longer one. Another bonus.

The next day I prefer to wash my overnight masks off with an exfoliating cleanser and the one I used this morning won’t be on the market until Thursday, but I’ll be back with more about that product then. The reason for this is to ensure that you’ve gotten all of the mask residue from the one that sat wrapping your face all night off of your skin, and to make sure that any foreign debris that may have got stuck in your pores is now also long gone. The result:

  • Smoother,
  • Radiant,
  • Softer,
  • Calmed,

… skin.

I definitely recommend the Biotherm Life Plankton Mask to anyone in need of repair and revitalizing, deep hydration, extreme soothing and/or just a nice cooling mask after a day of wear-and-tear. Any skin type.

Tomorrow I’ll be back with a Multi-Mask combo with two of my personal faves, so check back after 6 pm for that post and all the luxurious details. Until then be sure to keep exploring what’s out there and let me know if you find anything worth spending some time playing around with.

Stay Calm and Mask On,

pG.

L’Oréal Pure-Clay Mask Exfoliate & Refining Treatment || 7 Day Mask Challenge || Week 2 || Day 1

Well here it is, the beginning of 7 days of indulgence; which is not unusual for myself anyways.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, my mask routine can be quite intricate sometimes and even I wonder how, or why. And then I think to myself, “it’s because you enjoy not only looking clean, but feeling good as well.” Don’t we all? Which it’s why I’m sharing my love for Professional Masks over the next few days, so maybe you’ll fall in love as well.

Last night I kicked off The 7 Day Mask Challenge Week Two with one of L’Oréal’s 3 Pure-Clay Masks. The one I went with, L’Oréal Pure-Clay Mask Exfoliate & Refining Treatment. Before I dive into the mask itself, let’s take a look at what some of the designated benefits are from this product…

L’Oréal Pure-Clay Mask Exfoliate & Refining Treatment

  • 3 Pure-Clay’s and Red Algae Extract,

  • Potent Pure-Clays and Volcanic Rock exfoliate dead skin on face and smooth surface imperfections,
  • Addresses rough skin deep clogged pores,
  • Imperfections are less visible.

The reason I decided to begin with this bad-boy is because it’s ability to cleanse deeply makes it a good start to any week of consistent masking; to eliminate debris and oils that linger in our pores. That way we don’t trap any unwanted entity in our pores before treating the skin.

After doing my usual double-cleanse, one to remove my makeup and the other as an extra-precautionary step to ensure the skin is super-clean, I threw on my toner and then went ahead with applying the mask. I use a mask brush to restrict my use of product but to also make sure I get an even and visible application.

The mask sits on the skin for about 10 minutes before needing washed off. Now since this mask has small exfoliating particles it’s suggested that we apply a small bit of water to the dry mask and massage gently before washing off entirely. This added feature ensure the exfoliating process takes place fully, and you definitely want to do that.

My thoughts on the mask overall are that it’s extremely effective: it cleanses my pores deeply, it definitely refines the texture of my skin for a smoother feel and look, as well as making sure my complexion is warm and even. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be a staple part of my routine.

I would recommend the L’Oréal Pure-Clay Mask Exfoliate & Refining Treatment to anyone looking for a gentle exfoliation, in search of refined pores and smoother skin. Preferably a normal to oily skin type.

Tomorrow I’ll be back with Day 2 of The 7 Day Mask Challenge Week Two as I begin to get even more in depth with my favourite mask routines.

Smoother is always better,

pG.

Week Two || Professional Masks

One of the questions I often face from many people is,

What’s the difference between a Sheet Mask and Wash-Off/Professional Masks?

… so I decided to do a little project and point out some of those differences.

Two weeks ago I did 7 days straight of Sheet Masks and starting tonight I’ll be doing the same with different Professional Masks.

The key difference between a Professional Mask and a Sheet Mask is that Professional ones are more targeted treatments, and can offer deeper cleanses while doing so. In essence, someone with a more complex/oily skin type may want to use Professional Masks over Sheet Masks, in order to help address the specific needs and concerns at hand.

… and I love my Professional Masks.

Here’s my schedule for my 7 Day Mask Challenge, Week Two, Professional Masks:

  • May 19th: L’Oréal Pure Clay Pore Refining Mask,
  • May 20th: Brothers Life Plankton Mask,
  • May 21st: Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Energizing Radiance Mask + Kiehl’s Calendula and Aloe Soothing Hydration Mask,
  • May 22nd: Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Mask,
  • May 23rd: Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Mask + Kiehl’s Calendula and Aloe Soothing Hydration Mask,
  • May 24th: Kiehl’s Cilantro and Orange Pollutant Defendant Mask,
  • May 25th: L’Oréal Pure Clay Brightening Mask.

Intricate, isn’t it?

Much like with The 7 Day Mask Challenge, Week One, I’ll be posting daily about my experience with each mask and what I enjoyed about it.

So check back tomorrow for Day 1’s post, and keep in mind you may be encouraged to try a new mask or two once we get started… and I wouldn’t blame you.

TGIF,

pG.

7 Day Mask Challenge || Week One Recap

First off, my sincerest apologies.

I had originally meant to get to this post last week but as life sometimes has it, I got carried away with other obligations. Like running the Sporting Life 10K Run Toronto on Mothers Day, which will be another blog post on its own very soon.

Essentially I just want to recap my week of Sheet Masks and what my overall results were, as well as my favourites and least favourites from the week. I’ll be keeping it brief as well.

Earlier in the week my skin was in its normal state of habitation with my oil levels at par and slight dehydration, as per usual. So what I really wanted to see was how much glow my skin would have obtained by the end of 7 days of Sheet Masks. If you followed along with my posts throughout the week you’ll know what masks I decided to go with, but incase you didn’t, here’s the link to each day…

DAY 1

DAY 2

DAY 3

DAY 4

DAY 5

DAY 6

DAY 7

By the end of using each mask I noticed a few changes in my skin, that gradually took place throughout the week. For example, there was definitely an increase in the warmth of my skin tone and it’s overall “dewy” look near the middle to end of the day. The texture was smooth and my skin was softened, but there was one or two concerns I began to draw near Day 5.

I noticed a few small red bumps begin forming on my skin, a small breakout I imagine, and they didn’t turn into a whitehead but were enough to leave me feeling uncomfortable. This can 100% be attributed to the over-nourishment of my skin with all the Essence from the Sheet Masks.

If you can recall when I first began The 7 Day Mask Challenges I had mentioned the difference between Sheet Masks and Professional Masks and one of the key ones being that Sheet Masks are more of a moisturizing/ nourishing treatment; whereas Professional Masks can be targeted treatments with tremendous results and are better for deeper cleanses as well. It only makes sense that my normal-oily skin type would react slightly off to all the moisture it was receiving from so all the masking.

But, what were my favourites?

Well I have to say that I definitely fell out of love with the Etude House brand due to its sheer tendency to run, and the sheets were too thin with little ability to sit well on the skin.

However I DID highly enjoy the quality of the Innisfree Sheet Masks and their ability to sit comfortably without having the Essence run down my neck. Although don’t get me wrong, their masks won’t work any miracles, rather they were a great way to indulge and relax.

The real deal was when I threw on both the SNP and Dewytree deep cleansing masks that not only felt amazing, but produced incredible results. I had mentioned that I received numerous compliments after using the SNP Charcoal Mineral Mask and I swore that I would use it again, again and again.

Tomorrow morning I’ll be back with my 7 Day Mask Challenge Week Two schedule, Professional Masks.

Despite the greater commitment required in terms of time for their usage, I cannot wait to see the results after 7 days straight of these bad boys.

Until Tomorrow,

pG.

Rodan+Fields || A few things…

A little while back I was approached via DM on Instagram by @mlong8 who works for the brand Rodan+Fields, and she asked if I’d be interested in trying a few products; being the junkie that I am and all. So of course I went ahead and said yes but since I had never heard much of the brand before, I went ahead and did a little bit of research on my own.

Here’s the important stuff, from Rodan+Fields themselves:

  • Founded in 2002 as a department store brand by Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields,
  • Dermatology based skincare products,
  • Creativing positive changes in both people’s skin and their lives,
  • Independent Consulting.

Essentially another brand geared towards improving the way we look and feel both physically as well as mentally, and truly, both are equally as important.

When shopping on Rodan+Fields you can expect to see pricing on individual products as well as kits ranging from  $5.00 up to $400.00 in pricing.

Let’s get to what Michelle (@mlong8 on Instagram) sent me, and what my overall thoughts are…

The Redefine Daily Cleansing Mask

How to use:

  1. Clean makeup off of skin,
  2. Wet finger tips and massage quarter size amount onto dry skin,
  3. Allow two minutes to dry,
  4. Rinse thoroughly with water.

Here are my overall thoughts:

  • It has a creamy-clay consistency,
  • It offers light exfoliation,
  • The smell is somewhat medicinal,
  • A generous amount is needed for one application,
  • It has a light cooling sensation,
  • Quick-dry,
  • A slower/longer removal process (like a deep pore cleansing mask),
  • Smooth and even skin appearance post-usage,
  • A lovely product but I could not commit to using it daily.

The Micro-Dermabrasion Paste

How to use:

  1. Massage onto clean dry skin on face and/or body,
  2. Massage for no more than 30-60 seconds,
  3. Use on damp skin for more sensitive skins,
  4. Rinse thoroughly after usage.

What I think of the produxt:

  • Thicker consistency like a hair pomade that contains thick exfoliating particles,
  • Fruit-like smell but also medicinal, almost liquor like,
  • Broke down and spread across face easily,
  • Only a light pressure is needed as it is an abrasive exfoliator,
  • Do not need to do for long,
  • Easy wash-off,
  • My skin was extremely smoothe, radiant and supple post-usage,
  • Skin felt nourished and moisturized (not overly dry),
  • Would use once a week.

The Redefine Night Renewing Serum

How to use:

  1. Cleanser and toner,
  2. Apply product across entire face (avoid eye area),
  3. Finish with moisturizer.

Some of my thoughts:

  • A rich and heavy gel consistency,
  • No obvious smell,
  • Great spreadability across skin,
  • Fast absorption,
  • Smoothing and softening,
  • Next day results were hydrating, soft and radiant skin with minimized fine lines.

The Redefine Lip Renewing Serum

How to use:

  1. Apply evenly to entire lip area in evening.

Here’s my thoughts:

  • Thick, heavy gel consistency,
  • Vanilla like taste,
  • Slow-dry,
  • Next day results were much softer, hydrated and smoother lips.

Overall I have to say that I’m impressed with the few samples I’ve tried and I can see why it’s a growing brand, in areas that it is. Personally I’d opt-in for the Micro-Dermabrasion Paste and the Redefine Lip Renewing Serum if I were to grab any Rodan+Fields for myself.

If you’re interested in learning more definitely give their website a visit and/or reach out to one of their personal consultants, or even…

@mlong on Instagram.

Until next time.

Stay in-the-loop,

pG. =D

The 7 Day Challenge || Week One || Day 7

Just about a week ago I started posting daily about my experience with a different Sheet Mask every night, for 7 nights straight. Those 7 days have come and gone and I’m here today with my final post, Day 7 of The 7 Day Mask Challenge. Can you believe it?

I must say that my skin underwent a few mild changes throughout the last week, one or two that may have scared me a little. However it wasn’t really until this morning that I didn’t feel too comfortable with my skin.

… and maybe that’s because of last night’s Sheet Mask, or just a result of over-nourishment; either way these little red bumps that have began to appear shall dissappear just as quickly.

For now, let’s talk about the mask I did last night…

The Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Pomegranate Mask

Alright so this was another one of those masks that I would see and think to myself, “I’ll try this one next time,” and that was probably with good reason to. I’m not sure if it’s the Pomegranate OR the Firming aspect that excited me, but let’s take a look at what the retailers say to understand this Sheet Mask a little better.

Retailers Description:

  • Get firm and radiant skin with the Pomegranate It’s Real Squeeze Mask,
  • Pomegranate also known as the ‘Kings Fruit’, helps your skin become more radiant,
  • The Jeju Green Complex consists of Green Tea, Tangerine, Cactus, Camellia Leaves and Orchids to keep your skin healthy,
  • With its high water-retention capability, this triple-layered sheet fits tightly over the skin and helps it stay hydrated for an extended period.

I went about removing my makeup as per usual and then followed with my second cleanse, also the usual.  I then toned my skin and sat comfortably in bed with the mask on for 15 minutes while watching the final episode of Riverdale…

… which by the way, Holy Hannah.

While the mask sat and took action on my face I felt it slightly tighten at moments, and I’m going to go ahead and pin that to the triple-layered sheet that fits tightly over the skin. In terms of my overall Radiance, once I peeled off the mask I noticed no drastic change. Then again we know from my previous experience that Etude House and Innisfree masks are really more for indulging, opposed to being heavily targeted treatments.

Above all, a relaxing 15 minutes with nothing severely gained or lost; except some additional insights into Sheet Masks and what my new found preferences are.

Is this mask worth trying?

It’s certainly worth a shot if you’re bored of the usual and are in the need of a decent change; so go ahead, change should be welcome at least occasionally.

Was it results oriented?

Not in my personal opinion, again it was more of an indulgence than a heavily targeted treatment.

Overall I give the Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Pomegranate Mask a 2/5 starts in its category.

Do I ever love Sheet Masks after this…

I’m going to be back in the next few days with my overall recap of my skins’ end result and my ultimate experience during the last 7 days. Then I’ll be back early next week with the start of Week Two of The 7 Day Mask Challenges, Professional Masks.

For now, as I always say…

Keep Adventuring,
